Cockpit

Clean up and radius cleating. Fit and fibreglass floor panels. Make starboard deck support cleat. Make underfloor framing. Fill and sand coaming insides. Make and fit support ribs and knees. Fit cockpit. Trim back aft deck. Fair keel plug and refill.

Deck

Fair temporary deck beams. Dry fit short deckbeams and fore and aft beams. Fit beams to coaming.

Deck planking

Spile, dry fit, mark, trim and remove first layer. Cut in coves and arrises. Remove small deck beams. Everdure, prime, undercoat, and topcoat all. Sand and re-topcoat. Glue in all small beams. Grind and prepare all decking. Glue in and fair small deckbeams. Glue down first layer decking. Tom as required, spile second layer decking, and glue on. Rip and scarf third layer decking. Begin fairing second layer decking.

Set up waterline inside hull. Make cockpit components. Dry fit and scribe coamings. Glue together cockpit components after glassing cockpit tops. Scarf on coaming extensions and glass insides. Cut and fit cockpit floor panels.

Floors

Ream all floor and keel holes to bolt size and everdure. Create pocket in keel for floor #0 bolt. Dry fit all floors and bolts. Make and drill through hull for screws. Remove all and everdure holes. Fit floors, bolts and screws with sikaflex bedding on all fastenings. Make fore and aft template for mast step. Cut deck for sampson post.

Cockpit coamings

Make template for curve and set up laminating jig. Rip ply and glue up coaming cores. scribe, strip and trim coaming. Disassemble jog and repeat process for opposite handed coaming.

Keel plug

Make out new keel profile. Make and fit wedge to top of plug. Build on extensions to plug to accommodate core boxes. Make core boxes. Screed on fairing cream to plug.

1:15 model

Bruce Askew builds deck furniture. And goes scavenging for maststep material.

Foredeck

Fit and scarf planking. Glue and staple down. Grind and fair third layer.

Gunwale

Scrape back clamps. Make, fit and clean up repairs to sheer clamps and diagonal plank ends. Machine and make aft beam shelves and sheer packers. Glue in clamp packers and fair to clamps. Glue on beam shelves. Fair sheer and plane clamp packers and beam shelves to deck camber.Make and fit temporary deck beams and mock up of booby hatch and posts. Check out beam shelves. Cut and fit deck beams to shelves, Make and fit fore and aft deck beams.

Brush on two topcoats to deckbeams, breasthook, and hull above bottom stringer. Glue in deck beams. Glue and screw in knees. Prepare for decking. Glue on first layer of foredeck. Fit and glue on second layer of foredeck.
