Develop method to cut planking for splines. Make and modify tools to suit. Trim to fit centre and inner planking into stem rebate. Push forward quarter hull section back into place and bronze nail inner two plank layers to stem rebate. Improve fit between stem and false stem and between stem and inner knee.

Fill all old fastening holes in garboard rebate. Scarf in additional width to forward end of garboard (in two sections). Mount garboard and first plank and mark overlap. Remove first plank and cut lower edge to remove timber damaged by previous refastening efforts. Remount and mark garboard for trimming. Repair first plank as required. Remove garboard, cut to size and dress top edge. Fit and permanently fasten garboard as per post side. Final fit and permanently screw first plank at ends and into floors.

First plank: mount, mark, trim and repair as per starboard. Trim and dress garboard in situ. Seal any old fastening holes and gaps as required. Fit and permanently fasten.

Trim all inner planking ends. Rout second rebate back to clean timber. Snugly fit batten between inner planking ends and rebate. Cut back to good timber all centre planking and scarf. Machine timber. Fit and glue in repairs to centre planking. Cut out damaged inner planking ends and scarf. Make and fit repair inner planking.
