“From a Rogue — To a Rogue — For the ‘Rogue’”

TradeMe (NZ’s EBay) offered this oil on tinplate painting, inscribed on the obverse with the above. Given Rogue’s name changed to Muritai in 1900 on her relocation to Wellington, the painting must predate that.

After some restoration to remove the rust, clean up (locating an additional gull) and seal the painting and fix the frame …
